BOX(ES) BASED PUZZLES

PREPARATORY SET-07 (EASY)

Direction (Qs.1-5): Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below.

Seven boxes A, B, C, D, E, F and G are kept in the warehouse of a printing press. The boxes contain books of different subjects which are English, Mathematics, Biology, Hindi, Polity, Chemistry and Accounting but not necessarily in the same order. Each box contains books of only one subject. As the thickness of the books differs from one subject to the other, the number of books in each box is different.

Box C does not contain books of either Polity or Mathematics. Box E contains either English or Biology books. The number of Biology books is 22 less than the number of books in box C. The box containing Polity books has 23 books in total. Box F has 18 more books than box D but 8 more books than box B. The box that contains Hindi books has the highest number of books and the box with English books has the second highest number of books. Box E has 7 more books than box G but 22 more books than box B. Mathematics books are odd in number. Box B contains either Chemistry or Polity books and the number of books is 8/11 of the number of books in box G.
